“Rodeo Queens” is a coming-of-age story set among the dust, glitter, and spectacle of the California rodeo. As two teenage sisters near the end of their career as rodeo queens, they fight to shape the future of their town’s most cherished tradition while grappling with their transition into adulthood.

Grounded in verité and immersive storytelling, Rodeo Queens is a highly personal nonfiction narrative about two young women who live in rural America during the divergence of the post-Trump era. Located in the Sierra foothills of California, Oakdale is referred to as “The Cowboy Capital of the World". The rodeo tries to preserve a Western “way of life” and this film explores what happens when two young women question it.
